Pumpkinator 2016 Coming Monday
The Great Pumpkinator will be arriving on this Monday, October 17. This orgy of spices and pumpkin and chocolate malts will be making its annual appearance. (Please note that not every account that is getting Pumpkinator will get it on Monday - some have other delivery days during the week.)
Everything is a little over the top with this beer which perversely makes it balanced. Beyond the big malt bill, it has pumpkin (lots of it), molasses, brown sugar and a healthy load of spices. It's 10% ABV which makes it a dessert by itself or the perfect accompaniment to your holiday meal. It is also helpful in coping with those relatives who are convinced that the rest of the world agrees with their politics and you are dying to hear about them.
This is a beer that ages magnificently. Many really enjoy it most after a year or two. If you do want to lay some down, it is best to age this beer at cold temperatures (your refrigerator is highly recommended over your closet).
|Ye Olde Pub Night at Saint Arnold
Friday, October 14 - 5:00 - 10:00 PM
Come one, come all! Get a leg up and a head start on the Renaissance Themed Faire festivities at Saint Arnold since you can't quaff our libations upon their hallowed grounds.
Frothy mugs of our beer (known throughout the Southern realm to be the finest), turkey legs, and trivia will be had by all. Bodices may rip! Good times and general merriment will be found for ye on Friday, October 14 at Ye Olde Pub Night at the brewery.
Pull up those tights, lace up those corsets and polish your gauntlet knobs for an elegant Renaissance Costume Contest during a theme-appropriate Renaissance-esque Geeks Who Drink Trivia! The contest and trivia will commence sharp at 7:00 PM. Be there!
Some special guests will even join us - the German Court from the Texas Renaissance Festival will be on hand in their traditional German outfits. They enjoy everything Germany has to offer, so it makes sense for them to be at Ye Olde Pub Night!
Alas, in addition to Renaissance themed menus from none other than Saint Arnold Executive Chef Sir Franklin Mint, a turkey leg eating contest will also occur! A regal Turkey Leg Eating Contest will get underway around 6:45 PM, contestants will be chosen at 6:00PM - first come, first to take part!
As with all of our Pub Nights, admission is free.
|Saint Arnold Variety Packs are Now Available!
We know how difficult it can be to decide between your favorite beers at the grocery store. There are so many great beers in such a wide variety of styles. We're doing our little part to make your decision easier.
Many of you have been asking us for Variety Packs for years. Some of you have been asking us for decades. Our brand new Variety Packs - featuring Fancy Lawnmower, 5 O'Clock Pils, Art Car IPA and Santo - are for y'all.
These 12 packs of 12 oz cans are hitting the market now. As with most things, exact availability depends on the store, but they will continue to pop up at HEB, Spec's and Kroger throughout October.
Side note: From a packaging and logistics standpoint, Variety Packs are an all-hands-on-deck activity. To help out the guys downstairs, we decided to turn it into a team building exercise! For our Variety Pack runs, employees from all departments pitch in to put them together... together. We laugh, we cry, we package. And when we're done, Variety Packs are born.
10th Annual Day of the Dead Rock Stars
at Cactus Music on Saturday, October 15
It's ten years gone, but the song plays on! This Saturday, local artist (and creator of our Santo label) Carlos Hernandez and the Record Ranch Gallery (located inside Cactus Music) present Day of the Dead Rock Stars: Ten Years Gone. This unique exhibit will memorialize deceased recording artists from rock, country, jazz and blues in honor of Día de los Muertos. The artist's reception, which is open to the public, will take place from 6:00 - 9:00 PM.
To celebrate, we will provide plenty of Santo, the only beer that seemed fitting. The evening will also include live music and a DJ spinning records in the Record Ranch Gallery.
Check out all of the participating artists.
